The other night, I came downstairs to find this on the coffee table in our living room. Jamey was on the couch. Now, I wasn't as surprised to see something like this in my house as others might be. Jamey knows a lot of chemistry and he worked in a lab for 8 or 9 years before going back to school. But I still HAD to ask, "Could that blow up?" He said it couldn't and launched into an explanation of why it couldn't. I actually understood, after several attempts (I'm surprised, too). Still, he kindly moved it out into the shop. So, what is he up to? He's brewing his own vinegar. Regular and peach-flavored.

I want to make vinegar! Can you tell us how? I already make kombucha. I think they are very similar processes, though I don't use an airlock. Maybe that's why my 'bucha molds occasionally!
