Two Years Ago Today

Two years ago today, I wrote my first blog post.

I had no idea how long I'd stick with it.  I didn't know if I'd get bored or run out of things to say.

I didn't know that I'd find writing therapeutic.  I didn't know I'd be drawn to it and feel a sense of satisfaction when the words in my head appeared in type.

I didn't know how fun it would be to read prior posts and how much it would help me look back on how our onions looked the year before or how full our garden cart was of winter squash.

I didn't know how fun it would be to read other people's blogs, getting peeks into their lives, getting to see what they grow, what they read, how they cook, what they think.

But the biggest thing I didn't know about was that I would make friends.  Real friends.  Instead of picking up the phone, I read and comment.  Instead of answering the phone, I read your comments.  There are relationships- friendships that grow across these invisible wires and waves.

And, for those I am most thankful.

Happy Anniversary, friends.

  1. Happy Anniversary! I'm so glad that you both started and stuck with your blogging. And, I am so glad I stumbled upon Clover Lane and her interview with you. That was my first introduction to you- I was impressed with you then and I am inspired by you now.

Just a friendly reminder, if you know me personally please try to refrain from using my name. There are those who may try to locate me, break into my pantry and steal my pickled beets. Thanks:-).
