Pallet Trailer for Lawn Mower/Tractor
Jamey wanted something to haul things around the property. Things like firewood, produce, brush, etc. There's often room for kids as well. Working with some used pallets, some old (and new boards) and a couple bicycle wheels, he built this and it works great.

ReplyDeleteDo you have any tips for growing sweet potatoes? Ours either come out huge, or long and skinny. I would love to have mine be baking size like the ones in your picture!
ReplyDeleteOur sweet potatoes were nicer in shape this year thanks to us tilling the sweet potato bed (we think). In years past they were of varying shapes and sizes- just like yours:-). Even with the tiller, we harvested some small ones, too.
DeleteOh, how neat! How are the wheels attached? When I expand it, it looks like I can see an axle going across.
ReplyDeleteThere is an axle involved but the cart is just notched out so that the axle rolls along underneath it. Jamey found that it works pretty well this way so he has't bothered to attach the axle to anything yet :-).

ReplyDeleteIf only we could get pallets to our place! LOL We need a trailer to do so, something that we can drive the hour to town. DH can find a million ways to use pallets if only we could get them.
ReplyDeleteUntil now... I've never seen a garden cart with disk brakes (minus the calipers). Is there any chance you can share how the axle and wheels work together?
ReplyDeleteExplanation - bicycles typically have a very short threaded rod for an axle that fits into the frame... did he replace those with a long threaded rod? Maybe a close up picture and/or sketch by your husband?
